A Legacy of Veterinary Care in Sussex County

After practicing strictly out of a mobile vet unit to get his start, Dr. Spinks constructed the original Animal Hospital of Sussex County in 1986. Using architectural plans that meet the standards of the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), a complete renovation and expansion was completed in 2000. The state-of-the-art hospital undergoes biennial review to maintain its membership in this prestigious organization.

Each of our exam rooms are equipped with a wireless network and digital otoscope and ophthalmoscope. Our facility offers a spacious waiting room for anxious pets as well as an optional “fear free” exam room option (which has a separate entrance away from contact with any other animals). Our large parking area can accommodate large animal trailers, and the property is surrounded by a beautiful lawn and wooded area to walk pets as you wait.

We believe in continuing education and staying current with the most effective technology available to ensure your pet gets the best care possible. The Veterinarians also use a wide variety of online sources to help educate you on the well-being of your pet.
